No longer U.S.News,but rather World { Global } News.
Bad news for that old timer with the Schlutz crewcut, who
likes those Pickled eggs in the huge jar and pretzels.
And firgit him Buyin some designer German pretzels and
maybe even havin a garage sale to give-away those german
mugs,Steins from Munich. And especially that old Tuba, sittin in the
upper reaches of a corner in the attic.

Damn ... Can't just once, and American Co. not sell ouit and
go for the gold.I was given some shares of Anheuser Busch, afer college
sat on for about 10 years.Made enough to buy a new car.
Oh ! Not No Audi,either.

you are right. AB should be buying companies not the other way around. Its like US Steel - once they were the biggest steel company in the world. But they sat on their asses in the 70s, when they should have been installing or buying steel companies around the world.

they don't make Japanese beer, they make beer for Americans from 12 breweries strategically located around the country to deliver their product in the most efficient way possible that allows the product to be kept fresh.

The bottom line is this. It's a pretty sad day, when The Premier
Brewer in this Country, has to Go Euro.Don't forget it was
Miller beer who bought Lowenbrau. And started brewin in Texas
way back 30-40 years ago.

Not true at all. I can go to almost any country and see ads for AB beer. IF they don't have interest in making beer for overseas markets then why are they advertsing overseas. Gimme a break. Whatever their reasons are, does not matter. They got bought by a company THAT DOES have an interest in global markets.

I know now you will say something like "the bottles are made out of glass". Although true, not really relevant to the discussion.

The dynamic is ever changing and ever for the worse. What once was
the standard - Buy American - as a kid growin up in the 60's is
almost dead.In fact,I can't think of the last time I heard it.
No More American TV's.
No More American Steel { small % }
No more ALL American made Harley's
No More American dominated car industry
No more Great American beef { angus } The french have Charolais
and the Japanese have hit upon even better, more flavorfull and tender
cattle.
Our wines, especially from Calif. are the envy of the world.
But our beer is not sustaining that great Tradition.
Our domestics are consistently gettin better. But as more
big name Euro's enter the fray, the more some might sense a
decline in the once great dominance of America's Pasttime.
The preoccupation over their suds.Is all.

It's a little more than sad - it's a fucking tragedy. Our dollar is weak (which is the only reason they afford it), and AB was highly profitable. The remaining shareholders should collectively sue the board members who were influenced by talks of golden parachutes and ridiculous promises.
Do you think the people at Nike or Sony started jumping onto swords when they went stateside hmm ?
 Nike is an American company, and Sony is still Japanese, so how is that question even remotely valid?

Guffaw.

NewsFlash for the ever-so-fucking proud UberPatriot;

They're not the oldest, by far.

Yeungling and Sons is still the oldest operating brewery in the United States. And there were many, many breweries that pre-date the Anheuser Busch brewery, some by more than 80 years.
