The summit between Lebanese President Michel Suleiman and the Syrian President Bashar al Assad has been heralded by some observers as ushering in a new era for Syria and Lebanon.

The presence of President Suleiman in Damascus was symbolic..

It is the first time a Lebanonese President has visited Syria in more than three years following a period of intense relations.

They are bright enough to know they need to band together, given that the world's leading exporter of terrorism -the U.S.- is looking their way, intent on invading them or having some of its proxies invade them.

perhaps you should gather up your arms and head over there to stand against the terrorists. Seriously, if you agree that we are the biggest terrorists in the world, and are free to leave whenever you want, but choose not to, doesnt that make you a terrorist too? You pay taxes right?

Oddly enough, I think Lebanon has been let down by the west, especially the United States.

They have strived for decades, under intense pressure from Muslim and Jewish extremes, to build a democracy, with little or no support from the west.

Invaded and occupied by Syria, invaded and destroyed by Israel, Hezbollah controlling half the country, yet they still pursue a western lifestyle.

Why? I don't give a fuck what they do.

Yes. But one who only goes along with the rest of the dimwitted fucking herd --iow, you and the millions like you-- under protest.

WE are the terrorists I thought, not they.

Under protest, is that what you call what you are doing? I call it being a whiny bitch who is all talk an no action.

While I don't condone Trav's tone... FT is like the guy who tries to rally everyone to pick up rocks and move them over here.. but he's going to go draw the message in the sand. You lead by setting the standard. If you aren't going to reject American values and American life, nobody will buy into you seriously.
