Hope this is in the right cubicle for topics.... it's sort of not news... and not political.....

If a teen male is raped by an older female (ie: a teacher) and a baby ensues - can that minor boy be made legally responsible for support and visitation of his new baby? Does the raped boy's family have a right of custody proceedings to keep the child within their family group rather than the mother's?

Here's one case...http://dispatch.com/live/content/local_news/stories/2008/08/16/janecrane.ART_ART_08-16-08_B1_T0B1RSR.html?sid=101

Seems a little strange to me that this would even be a question. If the older rapist were a male, no thought would be given to who has custody. But let a female get convicted of the exact same crime, and reward her with custody and child support?

The answer to this question is hell no.

If he can't legally make informed consent to have sex, then I don't see legally why he can get tagged for child support.

While I don't see why this kid should pay child support, I also don't think it's accurate to describe what happened as "rape".

While rape seems the incorrect terminology for being a victim of 'unlawful sexual conduct' by a female with a minor boy - rape was easier for me to type and I thought it would get more attention than the legal terminology.
