Was,is and will most likely remain Clark Gable.
Called by famed Director and Actor John Huston THE only
real He-man he ever knew,of all the actors.
Gable was the real deal.I still am knocked-over by his sheer
weight as an actor. His Voice, demeanor and true grit were unmatched.
It was said, often times, that when Gable walked into a room,
one knew a man was present.
However that does not mean he was w/o struggle or compromise.
He was mistaken on his birth certificate to be a female.
Lost his Mom,at age 7 months.
Married his first 2 wives many his senior.
And lost the true love of his life { Carole Lombard } a soulmate
while she was in flight to sell war bonds.

Clark Gable was a Conservative Republican.Despite his lost Love { Lombard }
being a liberal democrat. Attending a Rally to support Dwight D.Eisenhower
he also was able to vote by post, before his death for Richard Nixon in 1960.

Now,that's My kinda man.

I would say that Sean Connery, Clint Eastwood and Viggo Mortensen have filled Clark Gable's shoes quite handily when it comes to admirable he-man qualities. Over the years.

Political inclinations aside (and I suspect that was the real point of your thread, Clark Gable was a conservative Republican, yeah we get it), they were/are very much the man's men among hollywood actors.

I would have thrown Daniel Craig into that list, but it would appear he didn't even know how to drive a stick-shift automobile when he showed up for the filming of his first 007 film.

I'll tell you what the import of this thread is.And it is somewhat Political.
Clark Gable was a Good American.Plus one hell of an actor.Like Jimmy Stewart
and many other Great Americans. One would never have known the political affiliation
of either candidate, because they were too busy bein True Grit Americans.
Unlike many in Hollywood today.
A Good American should not be defined by how much they side { favor } a certain
Political Party and go to lengths in smearing and libeling the other.
That is why,it is still a Good American trait for the few real men in Hollywood
that are republicans to not make much ado, over politics.
But I am glad that the Baldwin quartet of acting Boys have a man in their
midst.Namely the lone black sheep { Only Republican } or Stephen surrounded by
the trio of Boys with chowderhead Alec, then another fat-headed William and finally
youngest and skinny Daniel.
Stephen recently goin in The Mike Gallagher Show to explain how he jokingly
made a half-assed challenge to take Obama ON in the ring. Finally someone Man
enough to both Take Obama ON,and also in a physical setting.
Stephen explaining it was his way of voiving difference between his rock rib
Christian values, which aren't for sale { Pandering } and Obama who apparently
likes the option of sellin his candidacy thru sheer pandering.
BTW ... Stephen who has done some fine work,as Alec has, said he's been respected
and admired all these years as an actor, and that up until he made that joking
challenge to and about Obama,he can't recall EVER a single negative comment about
his acting or role as a thespian. Now it's nothing but jeers about what a cruddy
actor he is and was all along.

Such is Life.

Stephen Baldwin is not a good actor. And didn't he say Bono was in league with the Devil?

Watch - Crossing the Bridge - { 1992 } and then say that.
I said Good. Not Great but better than average.
Alec gets better parts and those other 2 Baldwins don't add up to much.

 I've never heard of that movie. I would think that a good actor would not go on Celebrity reality shows like Stephen has! Have you seen the bus he drives around the country trying to convert young people to Christianity? www.THELORDSLOUNGE.COM (http://www.THELORDSLOUNGE.COM) The cheesy 70's disco theme should have them lined up!
