when the market is hurting.That makes No sense.
Why would democrats be obstinately against Nuclear power
when it is safe and beneficial.Or why against drilling where
we know there is oil.?

That's easy... it's a Robin Hood mentality... we'll rob from the rich and give to the poor.

But what happens when the "rich" like in England in the 1980's decided they are done giving to the poor and close up shop? Putting people out of jobs and calling it quits on income that can be taxed? So then what?

I'm with the folks in England. As soon as my house is paid off I'm retiring and becoming one of the "unwashed" masses that collect whatever... I'm at that age and the only thing that keeps me going is bettering my own life, not theirs. I don't mind helping. I've done that all my life but I'm tired and have had enough. It is time for me, not them. I don't owe them. They OWE themselves to get off their butts and work... horrors of horrors...

So,Barney Frank,once described by The Wall Street Journal as " The Patron Saint
of Fannie Mae and Freedie Mac,as late as 2003 REJECTED Bush administration proposals
for increased oversight of Fannie Mae.And was offering-up praise the next year along
with fellow Democrat Maxine Waters of then Fannie Chairman and CEO FRanklin Raines,
who resigned under a cloud,to be investigated for garnering $90 Million in salary
and bonuses for 6 years service.I'd say that pretty much answers yer query.

Frank also rejected further government intervention in the mortgage lending industry
saying, " These two entities - Fannie Mae and Freedie Mac - are not facing any kind of
financial crisis,the more people exaggerate these problems,the more pressure there is on
these companies,the less we will see in terms of affordable housing."
That is when he and Fannie went into overdrive.

As late as July 14,2008 Frank said on CNBC { financial network } ," I think this is a case
where Fannie and Freedie are fundamentally sound,that they are not in danger of going under.
They're not the best investment in the long-term standpoint going back.I think they are
in good shape going forward.
