This is a good bit of news. Apparently the U.S. has convinced the Taliban is beaten and wants to negotiate a peace. They say they want to sever the tie to Al Qaeda, and lay down their guns. I wonder if the know where Osama Bin Laden is? If they turn him in, and want peace, that could be very good.

I also wonder whether this had something to do with the reports of their leader was dead. It also may have something of the attacks inside Pakistan.

Well, that may be good news indeed. Let's hope there's further developments.

Alas I cant find, nor do I expect to find anything reported that stats the Taliban think they are beaten, or indeed tend to lay down their weapons.

Its a sad fact the Taliban with their stone age ideals had popular support in Afghanistan's provinces.
