Ha, when my brother gets a speeding ticket my dad grounds him from using the car for a week. My brother gets A LOT of speeding tickets and driving that fast is dangerous. He was once banned from using the car for a month.

Since I received my license, I only received 2 speeding tickets. I gave my dad the cash for the fine as soon as I knew. I was embarrassed.

Being STRICT when it comes to driving is the RIGHT way. I would do the same with my kids. Last thing any parent needs is for their kid to - God forbid - get into an accident.

If speed cameras are so "effective" when it comes to "policing the area", especially when I'm told that in Chicago, at a cost of (roughly) $75,000 per intersection, then they (our elected officials, and by extension, the police) should feel it incumbent upon themselves (as servants of the government) to show us how many cops they've laid off to expense the cost fairly. I mean, after all, if they're doing their jobs for them, then what are we out by asking? Then again, I'm just an "evil" conservative, so what do I know...

We had them too... until the citizens, pissed at the near total abandonment of downtown businesses, voted to ban them. Sure they cut t-bone accidents by 30%... because traffic counts went down 40%! Funnier though... Rear-end accidents were almost identical!
